The best Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S accessories for 2024 (2024)

The best Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S accessories for 2024 (1)

Look, I love my Meta Quest 3 (and the Quest 3S is an awesome budget alternative), but accessories are basically an essential — from making them more comfortable to wear and easier to carry around, to vastly improving the battery life.

If you're looking to enhance your time with the best VR headset and best cheap headset, I've been busy testing all kinds of accessories, and these are the 6 essentials you should buy.

And since I own both the Quest 3 and Quest 3S (for local multiplayer with my nephew), you can be sure that these will work with both headsets. A lot of that comes down to these two devices sharing identical controllers and similar dimensions.

So whether it's a carry case that let's you take it with you and really embrace Travel Mode, or seriously improving the comfort with a new strap, I can help you upgrade your VR experience.

Clocking many hours every week on my Meta Quest 3, it's become clear that the out-the-box experience is okay — but these accessories are essential to make it truly great.

1. Meta Quest Elite Strap with Battery

Best Quest strap

Colors: White
Weight: 6.2 ounces
Battery life: ~ 2 hours

The Elite Strap with Battery Pack is our recommendation for the best Meta Quest accessory because it's just brilliantly designed. Yes, it's pricey at up to $129 model, but it attaches with ease and allows users to adjust the fixture and position of the headset with the turn of a dial. Plus the battery pack boosts your headset's battery life and can be charged simultaneously with the Meta Quest battery when you're not in VR.

2. Aubika Mini Case for Meta Quest

Best carrying case

Colors: White or Gray
Weight: 14.8 ounces
Dimensions: 13.82 x 8.39 x 5.39 inches

For traveling with your Quest 3 or 3S, you’re going to need a case, and Aubika’s mini option is my favorite by far. A tough exterior, soft, plush internal fabrics to keep it safe, and a small-enough form to fit in the bottom of my personal backpack. It may say for Quest 3 only

3. TNE Link Cable for Meta Quest

Best link cable

Colors: Black
Length: 16 feet
Connectivity: USB-C to USB-C

I was big into VR gaming with the Oculus Rift, so much so that I still have a handful of games I bought for it. Unfortunately, I couldn’t play them initially on the Meta Quest 3 or 3S because the games were specifically for the original Oculus Rift. That’s why I ended up getting this USB-C cable, which lets me play them on my Quest when I connect it to my computer.

4. Facial Interface & Foam Replacement Set

Best face cover

Colors: Black
Weight: 0.28 grams
Dimensions: 10.35 x 5.51 x 3.98 inches

As a premium take on the classic Meta Quest 3 or 3S face pads, the Facial Interface and Foam Replacement Set from VR Cover is an excellent upgrade. The standard foam pads on the face cover of the Quests can be awkward and uncomfortable to wear. This accessory improves that experience immensely and even has its own clip so you can quickly swap the face pads on and off.

5. AMVR Touch Controller Grip Cover

Best straps

Colors: Black
Weight: 198 grams
Material: Silicone

The AMVR Touch Controller Grip Covers are the best knuckle straps for the Meta Quest 3 and 3S. These straps are easy to set up and use and can be adjusted on the fly. For games that require a lot of punching or other sudden movements, the AMVR grip covers will ensure the Quest controllers stay adhered to your hands. Unfortunately, because these knuckle grips stay adhered to the hands, you'll need to take the controller off your hand completely to free up your fingers.

6. Eslick Charging Station

Best charging dock

Colors: White
Weight: 1.9 pounds
Dimensions: 16.6 x 4.6 x 3.2 inches

Charging docks are a bit of a minefield when it comes to headset compatibility and price, but Eslick's charging station does it all while costing just $47. The secret sauce is the magnetic charging cable for the headset — just pop the secure USB-C magnet adaptor into the headset's port and link it up with no problem. Add the included rechargeable controller batteries into the mix with 30W fast charging, and you've got a stylish plinth for your hardware that is also super useful.

How we test the best Meta Quest accessories

Each of these Meta Quest accessories has been tested by me in my day-to-day life. I put each product through hours of testing, including the nephew-proof exam as he can be a little clumsy — that's a good durability test. So rest assured each of these accessories has been put through its paces.

I dunno how the elite strap gets so much love when the two best headstraps are bobovr s3 pro ( has a fan and facial pad replacement. and adicop 15000 mah adicop was great since the quest 2 with the no battery version. Both have strong ratchets for tightening and both move the weight if the headset impressively. Elite straps however are still probably the most easily broken
The bobovr battery swap ability is both a good thing and a bad thing to swap batteries is great but it makes adjusting the knob a bit harder than it should be for people with big hands. The bobovr s3 pro best bundle to start with is the 125 dollar version because of the fan and two replaceable batteries. The adicop only has one battery but it's 3 times more energy storage than most of the other headsets and doesn't require a outside charging dock. At 57 bucks you can't go wrong although you'll probably see everyone go for the bobovr s3 with fan. It's cheaper to get a aftermarket fan even if it's separate. Sure the charging docks are great but essentially they are for looks and a place to rest the headset when not in use so when they design the chargers it's astetics and light shows not counting the controller charging. I'd prefer to see one that attaches to the wall like the 3d printed headphone hangers. After headsets it comes down to grips and covers if your not getting a grip cover your experience playing is not the same your going to feel that subconscious feel that your going to swing and break your controller at 76 bucks each that's a lot of money. Not to mention what ever you damage. No need to worry about being claustrophobic you can slip your hands out anytime. The accessories they should be working on is a neck brace to prevent you from over working your neck to see to prevent abnormal playing that causes motionsickness as the neckstrain will enduce pain or strain to the left temporal lobe and eye strain in a prefect world headstraps would be more like a full headset that closes so you could cool off the user as some forget to breathe properly or have sinus issues that also induce nausea and motionsickness which I suggest hot sauce and ginger gum or ale. To keep the sinuses open. Just like blinking is important so is breathing properly since you can easily zone out and cause eyes train and low oxygen a full back headset accessory could prevent neck injuries and prevent some motion sickness.
